Something Started Shifting for Me in Late July
I've spent a lot of years "doing." If I'm honest, when I look back over my adult life, that's the pattern. Doing, being, doing, being, for stretches of different lengths. There's no shame in that. The doing was needed, every time it showed up. It got things done. It got me here.
But something started shifting for me back in late July. Not because I planned it. Because I couldn't ignore it anymore.
Months before that, I'd already felt the pull to create something. A short, seasonal program, offered a few times a year, each one shaped around the energy of that particular stretch of the calendar. I knew what it was. I just knew I wasn't supposed to start it yet. Not until the Autumn Equinox.
So I waited. And while I waited, I started doing the work myself. Reconnecting. Reviewing. Releasing. Quietly, on my own, before I ever said a word about it here.
What the Autumn Equinox Actually Asks of Us
This isn't the deep quiet of winter. It's a different kind of slow. A pace that eases out of summer, back toward yourself, toward a kind of mid-year review, astrologically speaking, not by the calendar.
Every year, the equinox brings the light and dark into balance for a moment, right before the year tips toward its darker half. Energetically, it's less about doing and more about evaluating. A natural pause point to ask: what did I grow this year, literally or metaphorically, that's ready to be gathered in? And what am I ready to let go of, so I can move into winter with less weight than I'm carrying now?
The Autumn Equinox lands September 22nd this year. I can feel it building already.
What Reconnect, Review, and Release Actually Look Like
These three words hold the whole shape of the work:
Reconnect is coming back into your body, not just your head. So much of "doing" happens from the neck up, thinking your way through decisions, plans, obligations. Reconnecting means slowing down enough to feel what's actually true in your body right now, using somatic techniques to help you get there.
Review is the honest look back. Not judgment, just honest accounting. What did this season bring? What did you build, carry, or grow, whether you meant to or not?
Release is letting go of what's no longer serving you, the way trees drop their leaves. Not as a loss, but as a way of carrying less into what's next. Some of this work happens through somatic practice, and some weeks, we bring in Reiki or Emotion Code® as supporting modalities, depending on what and how you need to release.
If You're Feeling It Too
You might already know if this is for you. Maybe the kids just went back to school, or they're about to, and the house is already starting to feel different. Maybe a parent needs more from you than they used to. Maybe both, at the same time. Or maybe it's simpler than any of that. You've been doing, and doing, and doing. Whether or not you've felt the pull yet, if you're tired in a way that rest alone hasn't touched, that's enough of a sign.
This autumn, I'm opening the first of what will become a seasonal offering: Autumn: Reconnect. Review. Release., a short, 1:1 virtual container built around this season's energy. Six 60-minute sessions over six weeks, running through the Autumn Equinox, with somatic techniques, Reiki, and Emotion Code® woven in as needed, plus voice and messaging support between sessions.
You don't need to know what somatic work is. You don't need six weeks of extra time you don't have. What you need is the willingness to stop waiting for life to force the pause, and choose it instead.
